Africa-Press – Angola. The municipality of Camucuio, in the province of Namibe, is the first, among the 164 municipalities in the country, to have successfully completed all the projects included in the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM).
According to the Ministry of Finance website, the municipality had a portfolio of 19 projects that were all completed and inaugurated, having reached a level of physical execution of 100 percent, while financial execution was 95.92%.
Among the completed projects, the construction of six health centers, distributed in the six communes that make up Camucuio, stands out.
In terms of education, two schools with seven classrooms were built and equipped in the municipalities of Daundo and Culucayona.
In the field of energy and water, 11 holes were drilled and 30 water systems were rehabilitated, to guarantee the supply of the precious liquid to the populations, as well as for the watering of the cattle and to promote agricultural activity.
In the field of housing, the PIIM created 18 T3-type residences for teachers and nurses, with emphasis on the residential complex at the municipality’s headquarters.
For the realization of these projects in the municipality of Camucuio, the Angolan Executive made available 2.3 billion kwanzas.
According to the municipal administrator of Camucuio, José Correia, the implementation of the PIIM was a challenging process, which counted on the collaboration of the citizens, who demanded daily the execution and conclusion of the projects.
The municipality of Camucuio is located in the northeast of Namibe province, covering an area of 7,452 square kilometers.
With an estimated population of 63,968 inhabitants, Camacuio’s main activity is agriculture and livestock, both subsistence.
According to the PIIM’s Global Execution Report, with a cut-off date of 25 February of the current year, the program had a financial execution of 24.5 billion, which served to complete 1,932 projects.
In total, PIIM has a global financial execution of 380.4 billion.
