Africa-Press – Angola. Energy Capital & Power (ECP) announced this Wednesday (24) that it has signed a partnership agreement with the Angolan National Oil, Gas and Biofuels Agency (ANPG) for the International Oil and Gas Conference and Exhibition Angola (AOG) 2022, a meeting scheduled for the period from 29 November to 1 December.

The ECP, which organizes this annual conference since 2019, declares, in a note sent to our Editors, that the terms of the partnership with ANPG are based on the fact that the concessionaire leads the Angolan hydrocarbon market, one of the most important in terms of Africa, where 1.1 million barrels of oil per day and 17,904.5 million cubic feet of natural gas are produced.

“ANPG is focused on accelerating exploration and production activity, with the aim of increasing energy security and competitiveness”, and is negotiating oil and gas concessions until 2025, “with work in progress for the concession of more of 50 blocks” in deep water and on land, writes the ECP to explain the partnership.

“This new partnership between ANPG and ECP will undoubtedly improve our collaboration and will have an important impact on defining the priority topics of discussion that are currently driving the growth of the industry”, something “to be presented at Angola Oil & Gás 2022”, said, quoted in the note, the chairman of the Board of Directors of ANPG, Paulino Jerónimo.

The Director-General of the ECP, Laila Bastati, values the connection to the ANPG for the impetus of joint work in the promotion of Angola’s energy assets, as well as for the alignment with the Government’s agenda to promote new investments in the Energy sector.

The ECP organized the first conference of its kind in 2019, which was followed by an interregnum in 2020, due to the measures adopted to contain the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic, with the meeting restarting last year, in events that organizers consider have been successful.
