Africa-Press – Angola. The first secretary of the MPLA in Lunda Sul, Daniel Neto, urged, this Saturday, in Saurimo, citizens to invest in agricultural production, to minimize hunger in the province.
The official was speaking during the celebrations of the party’s 67th anniversary, which is celebrated (10 December), having addressed the invitation, above all, to members of his political background.
According to the secretary, only by investing in agriculture will it be possible to combat hunger and poverty, as well as the levels of unemployment that occur in communities.
He mentioned that the province has enough arable land and water resources for the development of the activity, which is why he promised to support those who embrace the appeal with materials, seeds and other inputs.
“The militants must be the first, on the front line. They should encourage the opening of small businesses in communities, to help grow the local economy,” he said.
On the other hand, he defended greater responsibility in party activities and reaffirmed the MPLA’s commitment to working towards creating better living conditions for the population and preserving peace.
The anniversary is celebrated under the motto “Unity, progress and commitment for Angola”.
