Africa-Press – Angola. Forty former MPLA cadres and leaders in the municipality of Mbanza Kongo, Zaire province, were honored this Monday, for their contribution to the party’s ideals, as part of the celebrations of the 67th anniversary of this political force, marked Sunday, 10 from December.

Among those honored, there are retired and deceased party leaders and leaders, who, at the end of a celebratory lunch, were awarded diplomas of honor.

On the occasion, the first secretary of the MPLA in the municipality of Mbanza Kongo, Manuel Nsiansoki Gomes, highlighted the contribution made by the honorees in strengthening the party’s structures at the constituency level.

He stated that the act aims to recognize the contribution of these people, who from a very early age gave themselves “body and soul” to the service of the party, building a historic path in favor of the party in the headquarters municipality of the province of Zaire.

Some honorees heard be the press applauded the party’s initiative in the municipality and committed, even in retirement, to continue transmitting their experience to the new generation.

The former secretary of the Department of Information and Propaganda (DIP), Manuel Sampaio, congratulated the gesture of the party leadership in the region, predicting more work so that the MPLA continues on the path to victories.

António João Ntiti, who held several positions on the MPLA Municipal Committee in Mbanza Kongo, said that the act symbolizes recognition of everything they have done for the benefit of the organization.

The 67th anniversary of the founding of the comrades’ party is being celebrated under the motto “MPLA-for a more developed, democratic and inclusive Angola”.
