Africa-Press – Angola. The government of Lunda Norte will use the values foreseen in the General State Budget (OGE) for the economic year 2024, in the completion of ongoing socio-economic projects that have been paralyzed for years, to prevent the province from becoming a “construction site paralyzed.”

For the province of Lunda Norte, the OGE 2024, recently approved by the National Assembly, foresees more than 90 billion kwanzas, compared to more than Kz 81 billion for the economic year 2023, representing an increase of around Kz eight billion ( 11%).

The information was provided this Wednesday, by the interim Finance delegate in Lunda Norte, Firmino Camilo, highlighting that for 2024 the local government has not registered new projects, betting on continuity.

He said that the measure aims to conclude large structuring projects linked to the sectors of Health, Education, Sports and the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM).

In addition to the completion of socioeconomic projects, the OGE foresees 41 percent for personnel expenses (salaries of civil servants, admission of new staff in the Education sector and 30% for goods and services.

On the other hand, he said that the Finance delegation is working to expand the sources of tax revenue collection, so that Lunda Norte continues to register an increase in budget allocation.

The province of Lunda Norte, with almost one million inhabitants, has ten municipalities (Chitato, Cambulo, Cuilo, Caungula, Cuango, Capenda Camulemba, Lóvua, Lucapa, Lubalo and Xá-muteba).
