Africa-Press – Angola. The provincial delegate of the Angolan Bar Association (OAA) in Uíge, Lando Marcelo, asked, on Thursday, for greater respect from local courts when serving lawyers.

Lawyer Amadeu Epalanga, who discussed “The implementation of effective judicial protection”, lamented the fact that procedural delays were recorded in non-criminal proceedings, lasting up to a year.

For procedural speed, without increasing the number of staff, he only said there was a need to increase the number of bailiffs, judges and prosecutors.

He mentioned that the province has 152 lawyers, including 100 interns, an insufficient number to meet the various requests presented by citizens of the region.

The meeting, which brought together those responsible for Justice, the local Criminal Investigation Service, and the Penitentiary, lawyers and students, discussed the “Impact of the actions of Justice administration bodies, the materialization of the exercise and collision of rights and duties, among other topics .
