Africa-Press – Angola. The Municipal Administration of Cacuaco delivered, in the commune of Funda, professional kits to young people, within the scope of the Executive’s program to promote self-employment and fight against poverty.
Among the work tools aimed at creating small service providers are cutting and sewing kits, manicure and pedicure kits, hairdressers, locksmiths, motorcycles, popcorn machines, as well as wheelchairs.
The assistant administrator for the Political and Social Area and for Communities of the municipality of Cacuaco, Níria Marques, advised the beneficiaries to promote a culture of business promotion, to employ more young people and improve the standard of living of their families.
He stressed that it was important for groups in need to organize themselves into cooperatives, so that they could benefit from institutional aid more quickly.
“We hope that these means will effectively serve the stated objective, which is the promotion of self-employment, employability, as well as improving the lives of many families”, he said.
According to Níria Marques, many young people benefiting from civil construction kits are applying the knowledge acquired in the Vocational Training Centers, with funding from the Municipal Administration.
The administrative responsible mentioned that actions of this kind make there is peace in Cacuaco, because the citizens understand that the local administration is there to serve them.
In turn, the municipal director of Social Action, Family and Gender Promotion, Isabel Vesse Vesse, said that, due to Covid-19, many families lost their sources of income and the delivery of the kits aims to make them create small businesses. .
“We think that in this way we will be minimizing the impact of poverty on many families in the municipality and promoting self-employment”, said the director.
Soraia Gonzaga, a resident of the Mulundu neighborhood, who received a popcorn machine, said she was satisfied and that, from now on, she will be able to develop the activity she likes.
“In my neighborhood, this business is profitable and I know it will improve my family’s standard of living, because I will be able to sell at my doorstep or close to schools”, he said, while Francisca de Jesus, from the Cowboy neighborhood, who benefited from a hairdressing kit, stated that, as of this week, it will begin to develop its activity in the beauty sector.
“I already exercised at home, but with this set I can develop with more quality, now I will be able to have a greater clientele and profit more”, he concluded.
