Africa-Press – Angola. Seven hundred and 66 million, 131 thousand and 601 kwanzas is the value of the debt that the Public Water and Sanitation Company (EPAS) in the province of Lunda-Norte has to recover from its customers.
The fact was revealed to the press Sunday, by the president of the Board of Directors of EPAS in Lunda Norte, André Camilo, highlighting that State institutions are the biggest debtors.
He said that the awareness process is underway, with a view to encouraging debtors to negotiate debts with the company.
He added that “whoever does not agree to negotiate with the company will adopt coercive measures, which include cutting off water and anyone caught mining will be held criminally responsible.”
On the other hand, he made it known that, this year, the company will recover the water control and monitoring system in real time, as well as reinforce inspection measures, aiming to combat the mining of the liquid.
EPAS in Lunda Norte has 15 thousand customers, of which 3,856 are in the centrality of Mussungue.
It has four collection, treatment and distribution systems, in the municipalities of Chitato, Lucapa, Lubalo and Cuilo.
