Calemba 2 gains three ATMs and a deposit machine

Africa-Press – Angola. Three automatic teller machines (ATM) and a deposit machine were installed in the Calemba 2 neighborhood, in Viana, to make it easier for bank customers to carry out day-to-day operations, such as deposits, payment for services, withdrawals and money transfers.

The respective machines, set up next to the Pumangol fuel station, appear 10 days after the start of payment of the interbank commission of 700 kwanzas by commercial banks, in case their customers withdraw money at ATMs from other banking institutions. Previously, this fee was Kz 350.

According to the Interbank Services Company (EMIS), the increase in this commission aims to encourage banks to make more ATMs and cash available to the population.

Following the EMIS measure, Banco Millennium Atlântico (BMA) came up with the initiative of assembling four machines in a modular self-service format, close to the ‘Madeira’ market (Viana), becoming the first banking institution Angolan government to take this decision after the increase in the interbank commission.

According to a press release from BMA, the three ATMs and the deposit machine installed in Calemba 2 complement the offer of digital services and allow for increased proximity and speed of customer service solutions.

This initiative, he adds, also reinforces the policy of proximity and inclusion among the population, providing, both in urban centers and on the outskirts, spaces where customers have equipment at their disposal that allows them to satisfy their banking needs 24/24 hours.

The expansion of this equipment is part of BMA’s strategy, reinforcing its commitment to providing solutions that make people’s daily lives easier and that improve the experience of using available banking products and services.

Quoted in the note, the executive administrator of this bank, Mauro Neves, considers the initiative as an environmental strategy aligned with the search for innovative and sustainable solutions for customers.
