Africa-Press – Angola. Five hundred and thirty-one (531) foreigners from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), whose intention was to settle in diamond exploration areas in Lunda-Norte, were prevented from entering Angola illegally by the Border Guard Police (PGF ).
The information was provided this Thursday, in Dundo, by the spokesperson for the Provincial Command of the National Police in Lunda-Norte, Domingos Muanafumo, highlighting that the immigrants tried to use “fiote” paths, but as a result of the inspection work of the PGF were prevented from entering and forced to return to their country of origin.
He said that the events occurred at the border posts of Chitato, Caungula, Cuango, Cambulo and Lóvua
Angola and DRC share a border (land and river) of 770 kilometers.
On the other hand, he said that the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC), as part of the “Okuliandja” operation, seized 13 diamond stones of various carats, 1,230 liters of fuel (gasoline and diesel), in the municipalities of Cuango, Chitato, Caungula , Cambulo and Lóvua.
He made it known that the smuggled fuel was destined for DRC and after its seizure it was handed over to the Customs Delegation, as faithful custodian.
The diamonds seized for illegal possession and trafficking were handed over to the “Transfer Operation” Registration Committee, also as faithful depositary.
