Africa-Press – Angola. The MPLA’s first provincial secretary of Zaire, Adriano Mendes de Carvalho, defended this Friday, in Mbanza Kongo, the revitalization of basic structures, with a view to strengthening party action in the region.

Adriano Mendes de Carvalho, who spoke at the New Year’s greetings ceremony, stressed that the MPLA, as a mass party, should not limit its mobilizing work just in the urban area, but rather in all remote locations in the province.

He mentioned, in this regard, that special attention will be paid to the party’s mass organizations in the province, namely OMA and JMPLA, in the party political work to be carried out this year, as well as in philanthropic actions.

According to the leader, the Executive approved important structuring projects for the province of Zaire, to be implemented in the current economic year of 2024, in the most varied areas.

He highlighted the actions in the field of the road network, which includes the rehabilitation of the sections that connect the city of Mbanza Kongo to the municipality of Cuimba, as well as the Mbanza Kongo/Madimba/Lukunga, Mbanza Kongo/Luvo and Mpala/Lufico/Tomboco roads.

He also referred, among other projects, to the completion of the infrastructure program integrated into the municipal headquarters of Nzeto, the containment of ravines in the municipalities of Mbanza Kongo and Tomboco, ongoing works, as well as the construction of the new Mbanza airport Kongo and the Zaire General Hospital.

He also highlighted some projects in the areas of drinking water, which may also begin in some municipalities in the province that are experiencing a deficit in the distribution of this liquid to the populations.

Adriano Mendes de Carvalho added that works under local responsibility are also taking place at a good pace in the areas of health, education, roads, bridge rehabilitation, within the scope of the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM) and other programs.

The MPLA’s first provincial secretary of Zaire also spoke about the transport sector, stressing that the Executive reinforced the region with four more new buses, which have already been delivered to some operators who won the public tender for their operation, in the cities of Mbanza Kongo and Soyo.

Participating in the event that took place at the new headquarters of the MPLA Provincial Committee were cadres, leaders, members of the party, OMA and JMPLA.
