Africa-Press – Angola. Two thousand peasant families in Cabinda will soon benefit from financing from the Agrarian Development Support Fund (FADA), to boost coffee and cocoa production.

The guarantee was given on Monday, in Cabinda, by the Executive Administrator of the Agrarian Development Support Fund (FADA), Renato Baptista, during the credit package presentation seminar.

Renato Baptista explained that they will work with farms that already have some technological and administrative structure, in order to help promote agriculture in adjacent communities.

“It is from this segment that we will identify the target audience, such as individual producers, associations and cooperatives to be financed”, he added.

He added that the credit limit for individual coffee and cocoa producers is 5 million kwanzas and for cooperatives it is 25 million kwanzas.

At the seminar, eight lines of financing were presented, subdivided into several products, including credit for coffee, cocoa and lines of financing aimed at livestock farming, with particular emphasis on pig farming and poultry farming, he said.

The reimbursement modality, he added, depends on the duration cycle of each production, highlighting that coffee, as a long-term crop, will have a grace period of at least 12 months and reimbursements quarterly to semi-annual, with an interest rate of one to three percent.
