Africa-Press – Angola. Angola and Spain addressed, this Monday, the strengthening of cooperation in areas such as air transport, trade, industry, education, technical-scientific training and health.

According to a press release, the intention was discussed between the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Esmeralda Mendonça, and her Spanish counterpart, Martinez Belio, during a telephone conversation.

The two entities, in the note, agreed to give a new impetus to relations between Angola and Spain, by holding a “Political Consultations” meeting, the dates of which must be scheduled through diplomatic channels.

The identification of new areas of cooperation, with mutual advantages, also required an approach between the two interlocutors.

In the multilateral chapter, the secretaries of State took a look at the Great Lakes Region, at the coups d’état that are taking place in some States on the continent’s birthplace.

Angola’s role in the pacification of the Great Lakes region, in the Economic Community of Central African States (CEEAC) and in the Southern region also merited the approach.

Angola and Spain maintain good-level political and diplomatic cooperation relations, which have evolved over the years.
