Africa-Press – Angola. Sport management, high competition, coach profile, marketing, management and conflict in sport are among the topics to be addressed, on Monday, in Luanda, at a meeting to analyze the state of skating in Angola.
The so-called “1st National Skating Meeting” aims to discuss the difficulties faced by the sport, including the associated disciplines, by listening to clubs, coaches, managers and agents.
The information was disclosed yesterday by the secretary general of the Angolan Skating Federation (FAP), Anacleto da Silva “Kirro”. According to the official, at the event, to be held at the National Sports Gallery, at Complexo da Cidadela Desportiva, the question of the benefits of investing in the development of this modality will also be addressed.
The former “captain” of the National Team does not know whether on another occasion such activity has already been carried out, due to the lack of records in the Federation’s archives.
Roller hockey began to be played in Angola long before National Independence (achieved in 1975), and the country was on the verge of organizing a World Cup in 1974, however aborted.
The Cidadela Desportiva Pavilion and the building popularly known as the DNIC building (today there is only vacant land, after having collapsed) were erected in view of the unrealized World Cup of this sport on wheels.
Angola, African champion in title, would even organize the World Cup in 2013, currently with the designation of the World Skating Championship.
