Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan ambassador to the Kingdom of Spain, Alfredo Dombe, highlighted this Thursday, in Madrid, Spanish technical-professional training, technology and specialized knowledge as a bet for cooperation between the two countries, to help the process of economic diversification and the sustainable development of Angola.
According to a press release, the diplomat, who was speaking at a round table at the Angolan Embassy in Madrid, highlighted progress in improving the business climate and the fight against corruption in the country, as well as presenting his vision on the future of Angola-Spain cooperation.
For Alfredo Dombe, the event that celebrates one year of King Philip VI’s visit to Luanda not only reaffirmed the strength of bilateral relations, but also marked the path for new opportunities for cooperation and joint development between Angola and Spain.
The round table, under the theme “The Impact of Economic Cooperation between Angola and Spain for the Development of the Republic of Angola”, was moderated by Angolan Emília Almeida, economic advisor, and was attended by diplomats Spanish guests, with emphasis on Alicia del Pulgar and José Segura Clavell, both linked to African issues.
Alícia del Pulgar, director of the General Directorate Africa of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, highlighted the dynamism of Angola-Spain relations, highlighting the opportunities for mutual collaboration and sustainable economic development.
The speaker also addressed the strategic importance of Angola as the second oil supplier to the Kingdom of Spain, in Sub-Saharan Africa, and the support for key projects such as the Lobito Corridor.
On the other hand, the director of “Casa África”, José Segura Clavell, focused his presentation on the energy transition and Angola’s potential in the production of green hydrogen, highlighting the importance of energy for Angolan progress and industrial development.
The King of Spain, Philip VI, accompanied by Queen Letícia, paid a state visit to Angola, from 6 to 8 February 2023, where he highlighted the solidity and warmth of bilateral relations between both countries.
