Africa-Press – Angola. Kitaval Farm in the commune of Massangano, Cuanza- Norte, will increase egg production, with the acquisition of 25 thousand new laying chicks.

In operation since 2022, the unit produces four thousand and three hundred eggs daily, sold in the municipality of Cambambe and in the city of Ndalatando, capital of Cuanza Norte.

The firm’s manager, Mateus Engenheiro, said that they currently have 2,500 laying hens and an aviary 20 meters wide and 80 meters long.

Another building is under construction, 14 meters wide and 70 meters long, intended for the reproduction of chickens, to repopulate the aviary.

The poultry farm opened with 9,500 chickens, but many died due to lack of adaptation and others were sold, with a view to supplying meat to the market.

The losses, he indicated, were also associated with the poor quality of feed, initially purchased in Luanda.

According to the person responsible, the farm is also focused on raising and selling pig cattle, currently having 100 heads.

Without revealing the capital invested, he indicated that in this first phase 18 jobs were created, which could be increased with the acquisition of more chickens on the national market.
