Africa-Press – Angola. More than five hundred kilometers of roads are under construction in the province of Lunda-Sul, with a view to improving the mobility of people and goods, the Minister of Public Works, Housing and Urbanism, Carlos Santos, reported on Friday.
Speaking to the press, at the end of the 12-hour visit, carried out in the province of Lunda-Sul, the government official said that these were the lots on Estrada Nacional 230, new ring road in Saurimo, Saurimo/Dala on EN 180, Saurimo/Lucapa and on EN 240, Muconda/Biula and Cazage.
He highlighted that much of this work is progressing at a good pace and that, after the findings, it is believed that the established schedules will be met.
He made it known that the Saurimo/Muconda section will enter the road conservation process within months, as traffic is good, but there are small holes in some points.
He added that the technical survey has already been carried out to finalize the terms of reference and then launch the public tender for the conservation and maintenance of the section.
As for the Muriege/Chiluange and Cassaí-Sul sections, he said that the terms of reference are being finalized and the contract will then be signed for the start of the project, later this year.
As for the Luma-Cassai/Dala road, the official said that it is also a priority for this year.
During his 12-hour stay, minister Carlos Santos, accompanied by the vice-governor for the Technical and Infrastructure sector, Cláudio Pemessa, visited the works on the EN 240, Muconda/Biula and Cazage section, and the ravine of the municipal headquarters of Muconda.
