Africa-Press – Angola. University professor José Cavela highlighted this Thursday, in Moçâmedes, the importance of academia and academics in “building bridges” for the literacy of local power.
The professor was speaking during a seminar aimed at promoting electoral civic education, organized by the Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) “Mbakita”.
He considered that academia plays an important role in society in terms of creating “tools” for the construction of a cohesive democratic power, capable of contributing to the socio-economic and cultural development of the country.
The meeting was attended by university students, traditional and ecclesiastical entities, and other political actors.
The proposal on political-administrative division foresees 20 provinces, 325 municipalities and 375 communes, aiming to provide a closer relationship between administrative power and citizens.
