Africa-Press – Angola. Five new ambassadors accredited in Angola, with resident and non-resident status, presented their letters of credentials to the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, in Luanda Thursday.
The ambassadors of China, Zhang Bin, India, Vidhu Peethambaran Nair, Nicaragua, Darling Carolina Rios Mangueira, and Poland, Jan Pawelel, all residents, delivered the legal instruments.
Tomás Ulicny is a non-resident ambassador of the Czech Republic, residing in South Africa.
Speaking to the press, the Chinese ambassador said that more than challenges, the two countries have good opportunities in the future to intensify relations and exchanges in different sectors, deepen and make good use of commercial and economic potential, promote understanding between peoples and increase collaboration in international and regional affairs.
The biggest challenge, he stressed, will be to seek to further develop relations between China and Angola, which, in his view, are currently at their best.
He recalled that the two countries are strategic partners and Angola is one of the most important states in cooperation with Africa.
In turn, the ambassador of the Czech Republic stated that relations between the two States are very good, stressing that during President João Lourenço’s official visit to his country last week, it was agreed, in all meetings, that both parties are available to restart the historic partnership.
He informed that the Angolan President invited his Czech counterpart to visit Angola, which invitation was accepted, now moving on to formalizing the date.
The diplomat stated that he has been following the process of diversification of the Angolan economy, meaning that both countries can invest in cooperation in the areas of agriculture and higher education, with the award of scholarships.
