Africa-Press – Angola. An exhibition of 16 paintings with designations of historical dates and correction of National Symbols has been, since this Friday, in Luanda, available to the public, in the hall of the Administrative Complex Classics of Talatona.

Dates such as February 4th, April 4th, November 11th, September 17th, correction of the national anthem, insignia and flag are some of the content highlighted in the tables.

The Gallery of National Symbols, as it is called, was created by the Ministry of Territorial Administration (MAT) with the purpose of providing public opinion on the characteristics of national symbols, correct ways of using them, protocol standards, as well as forming and promoting the patriotic consciousness.

Speaking to the press, the Minister of Territorial Administration, Dionisio da Fonseca, said that the hall was chosen because it is a space for permanent movement of people and allows access without formalities.

He further explained that the Gallery was installed in the aforementioned space so that society finds an opportunity to exalt patriotism, pay homage to national symbols for representing the effort made by those who fought for the emancipation of Angola, for the achievement of national independence, but also to honor the citizens who helped develop the country.

He said that each of the elements that make up the flag, the anthem and the national insignia represent an Angola that is built every day and that needs the involvement of Angolans to grow more and more, as “valuing national symbols is valuing the homeland”..

Speaker Manuel Pedro Panzo, who spoke about the “Correct use of national symbols – common errors”, said that the most common errors are flags turned inside out, distortion of measurements, mast and flag, poor condition, remaining in the mast at night, changing the colors of the insignia, among others.

“We must carry the feeling of patriotism always and not just on special dates”, he warned.

The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Culture, Filipe Zau, Minister of Fisheries and Marine Resources, Carmem Neto, directors, students from various schools and employees of the institutions represented in the complex.
