Africa-Press – Angola. The Veterinary Department in the province of Huíla has been waiting, for a year, for one million and 500 thousand doses of vaccines from the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, to immunize one million 243 thousand, 073 cattle.

These are doses of vaccines against nodular dermatitis, contagious peripneumonia, hematic anthrax, antharax ATX and symptomatic, for cattle controlled by five thousand 547 breeders.

A year ago, the province only received doses that munized 96 thousand 686 heads of cattle, having exhausted the drug reserves, a number below the needs of more than one million and 500.

According to a report received Monday, in Lubango, the lack of these medicines is causing the death of cattle, which amounts to 42 heads of cattle per month, at a rate of three for each municipality, as well as reducing the quality of meat in the region.

The acquisition of vaccines is carried out by the National Veterinary Services department, which is assigned to the Ministry of Agriculture, the document highlights, from which a response is awaited.

Data from the provincial Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries office shows that the province of Huíla has controlled more than three million heads of cattle, mostly from traditional breeders.
