Africa-Press – Angola. Traffic on the Estalagem/Vila de Viana section and vice versa will be restricted, from 10pm this Monday until 4am Tuesday (5th), due to the replacement of the pedestrian crossing (P9A) in the vicinity between Rua Brasileira and the Municipal Command of the National Police of Viana.
The contract, to be carried out by the Angolan Roads Institute (INEA), is part of the construction of road infrastructure for access to Dr. António Agostinho Neto International Airport.
Furthermore, the respective pedestrian crossing aims to facilitate the passage of pedestrians between Vila de Viana and the neighborhoods of Caop A, Boa Fé and Camadeira.
While the works last (from 10pm to 4am), motorists will be able to use, as an alternative, the Civil Protection and Fire Services route.
Therefore, the Provincial Government of Luanda calls on motorists for maximum understanding, collaboration and scrupulous obedience to temporary signage and the instructions of traffic regulatory agents on site.
By the way, Viana’s municipal director of Transport, Traffic and Mobility, Laurinda Lunga, said that, in addition to the replacement of the aforementioned pedestrian crossing, the municipality will also soon have another one close to the end of the Luanda Public Transport company ( TCUL), whose bases are already ready, awaiting its application.
As for the Robaldina area, the person in charge said that negotiations are ongoing, because expropriation will be necessary to place the pedestrian crossing and facilitate pedestrian crossing along National Road 230.
