The person in charge, who was speaking at the opening of the Combative Instruction Year 2024/2025 of the Central Military Region, which covers the provinces of Benguela, Bié, Cuanza-Sul and Huambo (headquarters), highlighted the need to improve evaluation mechanisms of staff skills at different levels, to better respond to current demands.
He said that the current context of the world, characterized by the exponential growth of volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity, where international legal relations increasingly impose the need to improve the country’s defense tasks, across the entire space. geopolitical and geostrategic where Angola is part.
According to the deputy governor, this should be a concern for Angolan society, to prevent the country from being surprised and caught off guard, thus compromising territorial integrity and national sovereignty.
In this sense, he said that the training, exercises and maneuvers carried out regularly by the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) within the scope of the Instruction Year are extremely important, so every soldier must face them with great responsibility, seriousness and professionalism, so that the recommended objectives are literally achieved.
Angelino Elavoco highlighted that the purpose of this year of instruction, which takes place simultaneously in all military zones of the country, represents an important milestone in the lives of the troops, in an initiative that aims to improve operational, combative and educational-patriotic preparation, to guarantee the country defense
He stated that the FAA’s commitment to the imperatives of peace and stability in the Region and the continent, requires the need to work seriously in the conscious preparation of personnel, through education that places patriotism above all, as well as preservation of public assets.
The vice-governor praised the work carried out by the Angolan Armed Forces, above all, in promoting agriculture and livestock in all units and subunits for the troop’s food security process, at a time when the economic and financial context that the country faces The transformation of the crisis into an opportunity for innovation and creativity prevails.
The person in charge recognized the efforts of the Central Military Region in improving the creation of working and accommodation conditions for personnel.
The military event, witnessed by general officers, superiors, captains, subalterns, sergeants, soldiers and civilian workers, was marked by the parade of troops in para and the integration of the National Standard, another important moment.
Year of Instruction
The year of instruction, taking place over a period of 10 months, aims to organize combative, educational-patriotic preparation, as well as increasing the capacity of large military units and sub-units, adapting them to the demands and future challenges, in order to be able to repress external aggressions.
The objectives of the instruction include helping the population in cases of accidents and natural calamities, in addition to teaching the military community about knowledge of the laws and regulations in force in the Angolan Armed Forces.
The training of personnel also aims to prepare troops in the context of maintaining peace and security, in the face of armed conflicts in the region, in particular, and the world in general, as well as preparing Commands and General Staffs in cooperation with other regions. , large and small units to improve the mechanisms for carrying out joint missions.
