Africa-Press – Angola. The minister of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, Diamantino Azevedo, received, on Tuesday, in audience the ambassador of the United States of America to Angola, Tulinabo Salama Mushingi, with whom he analyzed the Angolan mining and hydrocarbon sectors.

After leaving the meeting, the American diplomat said he went to the minister to see how they could continue to work to increase cooperation, especially in the oil and gas sector, as well as an analysis of how American companies could invest in this field.

The construction of an oil refinery in Soyo by the Quanten consortium was also under review. According to Tulinabo, “it is a success for us that an American company has won the contract”.

“As you know, Angola is waiting for the start of the refinery and the company will lay the first stone at the end of this month, and we want to go faster”, declared the ambassador who intends to “increase the current levels of cooperation” between the two states.

Access to the exploration of mineral resources by the American companies and about the consortium and the production of gas were other topics discussed. In the end, Minister Diamantino Azevedo invited the diplomat to visit the Migration and Foreigner Service (SME) post installed at MIREMPET, which made him very satisfied.
