The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Téte António, represented, on Wednesday, the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, at the Virtual Meeting of the Heads of State and Government of the Members of the Table of the African Union Conference.The summit aims to promote consultations between the Members of the Bureau, the Chairperson of the Commission and the Legal Council of the African Union on the process of electing senior leaders of the AU Commission, scheduled for February 2025, taking into account the doubts that persist in relation to the selection criteria, MIREX said in a press release.
In her speech, Téte António welcomed the initiative of the President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, and acting president of the AU, Mohamed Ould Ghazouani, for convening the Conference Table Meeting, before the 22nd Extraordinary Session of the Executive Council of the African Union.
