Armando Filipe da Conceição Dala "Dokas": “Congratulations to the FAB”

Africa-Press – Angola. “The management of the Angolan Basketball Federation (FAB) is to be congratulated.” It was in this way that the former president of the Benguela Provincial Basketball Association (APBB), Armando Filipe da Conceição Dala “Dokas”, reacted to the organization of the 31st edition of the senior men’s African Nations Championship, Afrobasket’2025.One of the defeated candidates in the election for the 2020/2024 Olympic cycle, Dokas believes that Angola must fight to regain the title that has been missing for nine years.

“I think that the management of the Angolan Basketball Federation is to be congratulated for being able to bring to our country the organization of the 31st edition of the African Nations Championship for senior men, a competition that will be held in 2005. For the fourth time, the biggest African basketball competition will be played in our country, a fact that fills us with pride”, said Armando Filipe da Conceição Dala “Dokas”. For the former APBB strongman, it is imperative that the national “five” enter the 31st edition of Afrobasket with the mission of lifting the continental trophy. “From the moment Angola won the organization of Afrobasket’2025, the attention of the Federation and the players to be selected must turn to winning the African title. Therefore, Angola cannot, under any circumstances, organize the African Championship as a mere participant”, he reiterated.

“Dokas” argues that the national coach, Josep Clarós “Pep”, should call up the best players.

“Unfortunately, our team has been crossing the desert. I sincerely hope that the best are called up, because only in this way will we have a strong group capable of fighting for the African title”, he defended. At the end, Armando Filipe da Conceição Dala was pleased with the fact that the province of Benguela, once again, will host one of the preliminary stages of the competition.
