João Lourenço: “We are calm to go to the exam and face the jury”

Africa-Press – Angola. President João Lourenço assured, this Thursday (05), in Ondjiva, Cunene province, that the MPLA is prepared to go to the exam and face the jury, in a clear allusion to the dispute in the next general elections, scheduled for the month of August.

In this way, and with a phrase that was up to the challenges, the leader of the comrades was quite affirmative, when making a speech, in front of a population of more than 60 thousand souls who, from the early hours of the day, gathered to hear him , in a mass act that served to launch the MPLA pre-campaign.

The square built in the city of Ondjiva with his name, “João Lourenço”, was “assaulted” by militants, friends and sympathizers, from all corners of Cunene, who wanted to see and hear “the man” who had just offered a water channel-Cafu, to rescue thousands of souls, including their cattle, from the suffocation of a horrendous situation resulting from a drought that insisted on making that region a place of landing. yesterday, at the mass act. “The fact that we are at the end of this mandate means that we are on the verge of being accountable to the people, because, after all, he is the sovereign”, said the MPLA leader, raising his quality as a humble man. students, who we consider that we have prepared sufficiently for this exam, we are calm… We are going to the exam to face the jury, which is the sovereign people, in the certainty that they will give us a good grade, a positive grade”, he said, being interrupted for minutes… Applause, shouts and whistles. The people did not want to wait. João Lourenço was cheered by thousands of militants the whole time, as he advanced with the speech, the ovation was stronger. The MPLA’s intention is to win the next elections to continue the “great” work that the Executive has been carrying out, he said, immediately. “So that, in the coming years, there will be even more hospitals, schools, universities, more PIIM, which is to take infrastructure to the municipalities, so that there are more Cafus, to overcome the challenges of drought, not only here in Cunene, but in the entire southern strip of our country, namely in Cunene, Huíla, Namibe and Cuando Cubango,

In a very interactive speech and aimed, above all, at the balance of the great actions carried out by the Executive, in favor of the Angolans, President João Lourenço recognized that the MPLA lost, in each of the polls, in the last elections, about ten percent of the votes, having therefore exhorted the militants to work hard in order to correct the drop in the next election. “We must quickly reverse this trend, and it will be now, in August. There is no time to wait. It has to be now”, encouraged the militants. is”, which translates the idea of an early victory. João Lourenço recalled that despite this being the party’s target, it would imply hard work on the part of the militants. “No matter how good a fighter you are,

The opponent is afraid of the jury

Unlike the MPLA, which is prepared to go to the exam and face the jury, João Lourenço said that the same does not happen with his political opponents, as they were not prepared for the challenge. “As we all know, when an exam is approaching, there are those students who are very disturbed, very restless, because they have not prepared. So, they are afraid of the jury. should study, they were distracted by doing “ugly things and practicing acts of banditry”.

“Now, the professor won’t ask anything about banditry. That subject doesn’t exist. If we want to transfer it to politics, it’s the same thing”, clarified the President, drawing cheers and rounds of applause. Referring to the analogy, João Lourenço highlighted that the political opponents of the MPLA are in groups of cheats that they have not studied, in which, instead of worrying about designing a good governance program, disseminating its content, so that voters know and defend them, they are do everything wrong.

“The only Nation program they have is to mobilize some young radicals from the cities, give them half a dozen pennies to go buy a beer, maybe something more than that, to commit acts of vandalism. This is the governance program that, unfortunately, our opposition has”, he said. Faced with this behavior he described, João Lourenço raised the following questions: “So, who wants to capture the vote of the people, destroys the people?, Destroys buses used by the people to move ? Do you think this is from someone smart?” The answer was not long in coming. A unison no came from the crowd. Then the MPLA leader asked again: what name should be given to those who do this? Without turning their heads, the crowd replied: dumb. “It wasn’t me who said it,” concluded João Lourenço. He referred that the political opponents of the MPLA want to fight the party, destroying its infrastructure, burning the headquarters, furniture and breaking the walls. But they forget that the organization is not the walls but the people. “They should understand that violence won’t get them anywhere. If they think this is the right way, destroying the MPLA committees, they can destroy another hundred. We’re going to build a thousand. We are just like them”, he sentenced. We’ll build a thousand. And we will not pay for the same coin, because we are not equal to them,” he sentenced. We’ll build a thousand. And we will not pay for the same coin, because we are not equal to them,” he sentenced.

João Lourenço warned, however, that this reaction by the MPLA is not a sign of weakness, but of civic, politeness and respect not only for the lives of others but also respect for the other’s patrimony. He assured that the answer to this opposition behavior will be given at the polls, with defeat. “Their defeat cannot be small, it has to be a big defeat, which will take them years to get back on their feet”, underlined the MPLA president, urging the militants to intensify the mobilization work to defeat the opponent with a KO.

“We believe that the Angolan people will not turn their backs on us. On the day of the vote, they will hold our arm so that we can KO our opponents”, he stressed. João Lourenço said he had taken all the first secretaries from the other provinces, so that the the people of Cunene teach them how the KO takes place, given the fact that their main political opponent always loses by an overwhelming majority in that electoral square.

Criticism of the United Patriotic Front

On the occasion, the MPLA president criticized the Patriotic Front for, he said, even though it is not yet legalized, it is already carrying out political activities. He compared him to a citizen who, despite failing the driving test, goes out driving on the roads. “Aren’t they the ones who claim to defend democracy more than we do, they even say they brought democracy? So you who brought democracy don’t respect it? Do you act as if it were anarchy? It’s necessary not to confuse democracy with anarchy, despite the two words ending in a are not the same thing”, stressed João Lourenço, adding: “So, in August, we will also send the disemboweled people back to driving school. It is the only way to make them respect the State”, concluded the MPLA leader.
