Africa-Press – Angola. he National Front for the Liberation of Angola (FNLA) party promoted, in this city, training on Women in Politics and Local Authorities, aiming to prepare the women’s wing of the organization for the country’s current and future political challenges.

The training was part of the 8th of March (International Women’s Day) and also aimed to clarify the activists about the concept of local authorities and their legal framework, in addition to the need for women’s representation in this process.

On the occasion, the National Secretary for Monitoring the Masses of the FNLA, António Xavier, highlighted the importance of women being knowledgeable about local authorities and monitoring the dynamics surrounding the legal instruments that are being approved for their implementation in the country.

On the other hand, the official recognized the role that Angolan women have been playing in favor of the country’s development at various levels, towards its emancipation.

In turn, the FNLA National Secretary for Information, Maria José António, stressed that the party will continue to invest in empowering women, in order to be able to respond to the demands of the context.
