Africa-Press – Angola. Two hundred young people of both sexes, in the municipality of Soyo, Zaire province, benefited from provisional commercial licenses from January to March this year to carry out retail activities and provide services.
This number represents an increase of 60 documents attributed in relation to the same period of 2023, according to the municipal director of Promotion of Integrated Economic Development, Hortêncio Joaquim Sabino.
Speaking this Tuesday, the person responsible explained that convenience stores and the provision of services to companies in the oil sector deserved the attention of young entrepreneurs during the reporting period.
“Young people are still focused on selling electronic equipment, exploiting inert materials (sand and clay) and transporting petroleum derivatives, among other services”, he highlighted.
Hortêncio Joaquim Sabino explained that provisional commercial licenses, which are valid for one year and renewable for the same period, are granted to commercial agents who still lack all the documentation to create a company.
He noted that another benefit in granting provisional commercial licenses is the formalization of the exercise of the activity, thus making life easier for small entrepreneurs.
As for business licenses, the source said that its management issued 30 documents in the first quarter of this year, while 60 licenses were issued in 2023.
In total, according to the source, the Municipal Office for the Promotion of Integrated Economic Development of the Soyo Administration licensed 680 companies, from 2022 to 2024, with emphasis on the commerce sectors with 318, service provision (172).
The balance also includes 86 licenses for pharmacies, 50 for small industries, 38 for fuel stations, 13 for commercial banking and three for medicine warehouses.
The municipality of Soyo, with more than 227 thousand inhabitants, is located in the extreme northwest of the province of Zaire.
