According to the person responsible, the losses recorded in the country, with the putrefaction of tomatoes, allegedly due to lack of outlets and consumers, are linked to the lack of initiatives from producers, as it is a product that can be dried. or pack.
Speaking on the sidelines of the first Agro-industrial Fair in the Northern Region of Angola, which Malanje hosted from the 4th to the 7th of this month, he highlighted that like the mushroom, commonly known as tortulho, the tomato can also be dried, but many farmers do not dry it. do so due to lack of knowledge.
He stated that to avoid these losses, industry must be allied with agriculture, so that food processing becomes a reality in the country, having called for the legalization of companies with the Ministry of Industry and Commerce with a view to facilitating and promoting imports and exports of goods.
He warned against applying values to production without thinking about flow and marketing and perhaps the registration of patents and product quality, to ensure sustainability for the country’s agro-industrial projects.
On the other hand, the director highlighted the grandeur of the Agro-industrial Pole of Capanda, in the municipality of Cacuso in Malanje, whose production boosts the economy and relieves the General State Budget, having defended more robustness in the practice of agriculture, to combat hunger, since there are opportunities and water potential and arable land for this purpose.
Regarding the country’s first Agro-industrial Fair, he considered it a factor in the integration of projects linked to agriculture, industry and other economic sectors.
The event was attended by 205 exhibitors from the agro-industry sectors, from the provinces of Malanje, Luanda, Huambo, Benguela, Cabinda, Uíge and Cuanza-Norte and reached a turnover of 325 million kwanzas, with the sale of products agricultural and industrial, machinery and equipment, among others.
