Africa-Press – Angola. General Tax Administration (AGT) has temporarily suspended the collection of customs duties on postal parcels and express cargo, the institution announced this Friday.
The suspension of customs taxes, in force until May 31st, aims to allow operators to harmonize the system for processing processes electronically in alignment with the 2022 version of the customs tariff, according to a note.
The document states that this period was defined for operators to ensure technological conditions in line with the standard, after which the standard in article 14 of the Customs Tariff version 2022 of the harmonized system, applicable to mail and postal parcels, must be applied..
In the note, AGT expresses its willingness to provide any additional clarifications to better implement the announced measures.
Due to the entry into force of the Customs Tariff, 2022 version of the Harmonized System, approved by Presidential Decree no. 1/24, of January 3, AGT held, this Thursday, a working meeting with mail and express cargo operators, to align on the application of the article in question.
