Africa-Press – Angola. Three billion Kwanzas is the amount collected by the Second Region of the General Tax Administration (AGT), which comprises the provinces of Malanje, Uíge and Cunza-Norte, during the first quarter of this year.

The information was released Saturday, in Malanje, by the President of the Board of Directors of AGT, José Nuno Vieira Leiria, at the beginning of a meeting to review the body’s activities for the first three months of the year.

He stressed that the collection was positive, as it was within the established parameters.

Of the total amount, one billion were collected in Malanje, according to the PCA, which highlighted the Tax Administration’s continued engagement in strengthening dialogue with taxpayers, with a view to increasing the tax base at country level.

“We have the General State Budget with several tasks taking into account the dynamism of revenues, therefore, the intention of the AGT is to broaden the tax base”, he added.

From this perspective, he called on taxpayers to comply with their tax obligations, so that the country has consolidated tax revenue capable of meeting the needs of the State.

However, José Nuno Vieira Leiria said that the new customs tariff essentially aims to promote national production, with greater coverage of the policy of relief and relief on the import of equipment for industry and agriculture.

He said that from a revenue point of view, with regard to the import of goods, it will partly depend on the evolution of international trade.

Members of the Board of Directors, national and regional directors are meeting in Malanje to analyze the activities carried out in the first quarter of this year and identify the main challenges for the second quarter.
