Africa-Press – Angola. The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, held a meeting this Tuesday in Luanda with the executive director of the Emirati business group ADP-Abu Dhabi Ports, Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi.
No information was provided to the press about the conversation held at the Presidential Palace, in Cidade Alta.
ADP-Abu Dhabi Ports, a global trade, logistics and industry operator, signed this Tuesday, in Luanda, an agreement with Unicargas and Multiparques
to operate port terminals for 20 years, extendable for another 10 years.
With the Luanda Port Authority, the United Arab Emirates business group, signed an agreement with a view to the operation and modernization of Luanda’s multipurpose port terminal.
According to a note from the Ministry of Transport, the agreements aim to boost logistics activity in Angola, with ADP-Abu Dhabi Ports investing US$251 million to modernize the terminal until now operated by Unicargas and also to develop the logistics business.
The business group ensures that investment can increase to US$410 million over the concession period and depending on market demand.
