Africa-Press – Angola. Interclube’s assistant coach, Hélder Domingos, stated today (Sunday), in Luanda, that his team achieved its first objective, which was to qualify for the final of the senior men’s national basketball championship.
Speaking to the press, at the end of the second leg of the play off, semi-finals, the best of three, in which Inter beat 1° de Agosto, 84-83, Apolinário Paquete’s co-star, admitted that it was very difficult to reverse the disadvantage in the result.
He added that it was not easy to take the advantage from the opponent, who has a team with very talented young people.
He clarified that for the next objective, they will work on some aspects that their players still have flaws in, specifically defensive and shooting, taking into account Petro de Luanda’s capacity.
In turn, 1o de Agosto’s assistant coach, Miguel Lutonda, who led the team in the absence of Lazare Adingono, who is serving a federative suspension, justified the players’ lack of experience as the reason for their withdrawal from the final.
He pointed out that the “military” team was in the competition with very young players and they show that with more work and dedication, the future will be successful, congratulating them for being able to provide the public with a great show.
Interclube beat 1° de Agosto, 2-0, the same thing that happened to their opponents in the final, Petro de Luanda, who beat Casa do Pessoal from Porto do Lobito.
