Africa-Press – Angola. The municipal administrator of Cuanhama (Cunene), José Kalomo, defended Friday, the need to combine efforts to rescue moral and civic values, aiming to moralize the family structure.
Speaking at the opening of the sixth Municipal Family Council, José Kalomo asked churches to be more engaged in promoting recovery and moralization actions in society, through permanent dialogue.
He said that the commitment of related local administration bodies, in partnership with other state bodies and civil society, is necessary to change the current situation of family disruption, in some cases caused by the behavior of members as a result of violence or alcoholism.
He pointed out social issues, excessive consumption of alcoholic beverages, drug use, disrespect between parents and children, violation of the rules of social coexistence, as the main causes that destabilize families.
José Kalomo highlighted the importance of the meeting, which will allow us to outline possible strategies to solve the problems that many families face in urban and rural areas.
The municipal director of Social Action, Former Combatants and Veterans of the Fatherland in Cuanhama, Taciana Wedeiko, said that the council aimed to reflect the problems that affect families and collect subsidies for the alignment of public policies, harmony and family cohesion.
The one-day meeting addressed topics related to family awareness about reproductive spacing with a focus on health benefits, the promotion of gender parity in access to and completion of education, marriage, civil unions and inheritance in light of the right to family.
The municipality of Cuanhama has 360,491 inhabitants, spread across the municipalities of Ondjiva, Mongua, Nehone, Evale and Oshimolo.
