Africa-Press – Angola. The diet of patients assisted by the David Bernardino and Divina Providência hospitals and by the Liga contra o Cancer will see some improvement in the near future, after the institutions have benefited each 360 liters of pasteurized milk, a donation from the Angola Chamber of Commerce and Industry. -Italy (CCIAI).

In total, the three institutions received 1,080 liters of milk yesterday, a gesture that, in the view of Mário Cabrini, president of the CCIAI, in an interview, represents a civic duty that should always be encouraged in Angolan society.

“It is our intention, whenever possible, to provide help to our hospitals, which very much need a charitable hand. Therefore, we will continue with these actions, in order to contribute to improving the diet in these hospitals”, he said.

This donation of pasteurized milk (in liquid), according to Mário Cabrini, embodies another activity developed last year at the Divina Providência Hospital, where around 3,000 surgical gloves and 5 million kwanzas had been delivered.

For Father Miguel José Cachequele, responsible for Divine Providence, the act represents a sign of pure blessing, especially at this time when Holy Week is celebrated.

The priest said that the donation will contribute a lot to the diet of patients with tuberculosis, malnutrition and HIV/AIDS who come to the hospital.

Hermenegildo Castro, a social worker at the David Bernardino Hospital, considered that the Chamber’s gesture represents a clear sign of solidarity and love for others, which is why it deserves applause.

Hermenegildo Castro took the opportunity to appeal to other associations and institutions to follow the example of the Chamber of Commerce Industry Angola and Italy, “because hospitals need a lot of support”.
