Africa-Press – Angola. Angola and Cyprus Thursday, in Nicosia, expressed their interest in intensifying the level of bilateral and multilateral cooperation in order to also become partners in the African Union.

According to a statement from the Embassy of Angola in Italy, the information was provided by the President of Cyprus, Nicos Anastasiades, during the ceremony for the presentation of the Letters of Credentials by the extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador not residing in that Republic, Fátima Jardim.

The diplomat also delivered a message from the Angolan President and highlighted, on the occasion, “the friendship, collaboration and cooperation already existing between the institutions of the two countries”.

Fátima Jardim also underlined that the tourism sector will be one of those chosen for cooperation between Angola and Cyprus: “We are all traditionally linked by our cultures and Cyprus is a country that can, in terms of tourism, It has its tourism developed, excellent infrastructures and the sector’s development mechanisms greatly strengthened”.

For the ambassador, the exchange of experience and consultation within the framework of nations is extremely useful, both for bilateral and multilateral cooperation, which today, in modern times, aligns the wishes of governments, in taking positions for world peace and stability. .

The presentation of the letters was held at the Presidential Palace in Nicosia. In addition to Angola, 9 other ambassadors were also accredited, namely Albania, Algeria, Barbados, Iceland, Morocco, Mauritania, Burma, Philippines and Sierra Leone.

Maria de Fátima Jardim is the second ambassador of Angola accredited to the Republic of Cyprus.
