The Minister of Youth and Sports, Ana Paula Neto, appealed, Thursday(14), in Cabinda, to young people “to reinvent themselves, every day, making the crisis an opportunity to overcome difficulties, believing that it is possible to reach the objectives”, and underlined that the Executive develops programs to promote entrepreneurship.

Ana Paula Neto, who was speaking at the national act alluding to the 14th of April, Angolan Youth Day, said that it is essential that young people adhere to the Integral Youth Development Program, included in the National Development Plan 2018/2022, which is being implemented. across the country, within the framework of cross-cutting work involving ministerial departments.

Projects, such as the Action Plan for the Promotion of Employability (PAPE), already launched in several provinces, is one of the Executive’s programs aimed at young people, through which they can be inspired, idealizing their dreams, in the professional or entrepreneurship.

Minister Ana Paula Neto said that, in this way, young people can create jobs based on their own initiatives, supported by tool kits offered by the program. “PAPE has already been launched in several provinces, awakening and inspiring young people to pursue their dreams, in the professional or entrepreneurship field, creating jobs through the delivery and formalization of occupational pavilions for the provision of services”, she highlighted.

The attribution of micro-credits and professional cards, he continued, are a way for the Executive to provide young people, in various specialties, with opportunities for socio-professional integration. The Economic Guidance Project for Young People, developed since 2020, aims to develop entrepreneurial skills, through training and professional qualification, which enable them to fully integrate into economic life, promoting self-employment and generating new opportunities.

The minister highlighted that, in recent years, several legal instruments have been approved that reinforce the role of the State in protecting and supporting the development of youth, with emphasis on the approval of the National Youth Policy and the creation of the National Youth Award, to stimulate creativity, rewarding merit and excellence among youth.

Sex education for adolescents and the reproductive health of young people are, according to the minister, Ana Paula Neto, some of the various policies outlined by the Executive. On the other hand, he announced the Project for Maximizing Access to Information, called “SMS-Jovem” and “Jiro”, underway in all provinces, with the participation of more than seven hundred young volunteers, who work on raising awareness to prevent risk behaviors, guiding the adoption of healthy habits and lifestyles.

Minister Ana Paula Neto encouraged young Angolans to remain calm and firm in the face of the adversities they face, maintaining the hope that “a new page of prosperity will be opened if everyone does their best to achieve the country’s development.
