Africa-Press – Angola. Streets in the urban district of Rangel, in the municipality of Luanda and province with the same name, are being rehabilitated, an initiative by the Obrabella Foundation with the support of the local community.
The action has already allowed the reopening of road traffic on Rua da Brigada, which is also being intervened, said yesterday the spokesperson for the non-governmental organization Acção Humanitária Angola Unida (ACHAU).
Carlos Pombal told that the work is being carried out within the scope of the project “My floor is clean, my street has beauty”, with the support of the Administration of the Urban District of Rangel.
“So far, concrete work has already been carried out over a 50-metre stretch on Rua da Brigada”, he said, adding that the works, which began on April 15 of the current year, allowed the reopening of road traffic, previously closed, to driver satisfaction.
Taking advantage of the dry weather, he said, earthworks and compaction of streets were also carried out inside the Rangel and Marçal neighborhoods, namely the streets of Vanidade, do Povo, Sangue Fúria, Sengulas, Beco do Kilamba, Comandante Cantiga, Rua da Saúde, Pica-Pau, da Lama, 225, Cowbell, México, Bissau, Olivença, Coronéis, Ciborge and Rua da Jacó.
“The actions continue to take place on other streets because the objective is to level as many secondary and tertiary roads as possible within the neighborhoods that make up the Urban District of Rangel”, guaranteed the ACHAU spokesperson.
