Africa-Press – Angola. The Secretary of State for Industry, Carlos Rodrigues, assessed, this week, the current state of the industrial centers of Viana, in Luanda, and Catumbela (Benguela), with a view to assessing the level of operationality of these infrastructures.
On the occasion, the director verified the operation and production levels of the factories installed in the respective industrial parks and inspected the internal administrative organization of these enterprises, according to a press release.
Likewise, the working visit focused on assessing the state of the corporate structure of the centers’ corporate bodies, accounting and management reports, as well as assessing the opinions of the supervisory board.
In Benguela, the Secretary of State verified the state of the infrastructure of the Catumbela Industrial Development Pole (PDIC), where he verified that the accounts of this company were approved with reservations, in 2023.
According to the note, Carlos Rodrigues learned about the process of installing water and electricity, aiming to attract new investors and improve production levels at the manufacturing units.
During his visit, the Secretary of State also visited the commune of Biópio, an extension of the PDIC industrial zone, covering an area of one thousand hectares, which constitutes phase 2 of this complex, which has been occupied illegally.
At the end of the field trip, the director recommended that the boards of directors of the two centers draw up strategies and create dynamism focused on attracting new investments.
