Africa-Press – Angola. A total of four billion kwanzas is provided by the Executive, to allow the execution of the Integrated Program for Local Development and Combating Poverty (PIDLCP), in the 14 municipalities of Malanje province, during the year 2021/2022.
The data were released last Thursday by the provincial finance delegate, Ricardo Garcia, during the closing of the PIDLCP Provincial Balance Sheet Meeting, where he said that the amount was applied to actions related to the Health, Education, Agriculture, support for ex-soldiers and basic sanitation projects.
At the moment, according to the provincial finance delegate, actions to combat poverty in the 14 municipalities of Malanje have been carried out in the order of 95 percent.
Despite these positive aspects, Ricardo Garcia defended the need for greater rigor in rendering accounts on the right date and improving the provision of the School Lunch Program. “Some municipal administrations only give this snack once a month, while others do it three times a week,” he lamented.
Therefore, he stressed the need to review the implementation process of School Meals, in order to improve it and make children benefit more often from this program, which aims to combat hunger and absenteeism in educational institutions.
Ricardo Garcia advanced that the authorities will improve some aspects related to the visibility of the final result of the resources destined to the municipal administrations, specifically the 25 million kwanzas made available monthly for the execution of projects that aim to improve the living conditions of the population.
The Malanje finance delegate said that, despite some difficulties, the balance of the fight against poverty is positive, but he defended the need to improve the process of identifying ex-military beneficiaries of this government program.
The meeting lasted two consecutive days, led by the National Coordination of the Monitoring and Supervision Unit of the Program to Combat Poverty, the directors of provincial offices, the 14 municipal administrators of Malanje and their assistants.
Provincial officials addressed issues related to the prospects for the 2022/2027 five-year period and the status of the Ex-Military Reintegration Process, among other matters.
The meeting aimed to define the goals of the Local Development Plan to Combat Poverty for the year 2021/2022 and the significant reduction of vulnerability, based on the efforts made by the Executive at various levels.
