Africa-Press – Angola. The secretary general of the organization Africa, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP), the Angolan George Chikoti, said, on Friday (15), that he recognized before the Guinean President, Umaro Sissoco Embaló, “important changes” in the country.

Chikoti defended “it is always good to be in a Portuguese-speaking country” and, in this case, to have the opportunity “to see the progress that Guinea-Bissau has made in recent times”.
“It was also important to note the changes that have taken place here since the President (Sissoco Embaló) is running Guinea-Bissau, I think there are many important changes that encourage us a lot, knowing that our Member States can make development paths” , he said.
George Chicoti also said that he discussed with Sissoco Embaló the possibility of Guinea-Bissau competing for funds to be made available to the ACP by the European Union, based on an agreement to be signed in June.
With the agreement, to be implemented in 20 years, African countries will have at their disposal 29 billion euros, said Chikoti.
