Paulo Chissonde said that the climatic conditions in the municipality of Andulo are suitable for large-scale tomato production, as well as for the development of other agricultural crops.

The person responsible for the Agriculture sector announced that, every week, more than 40 tons of tomatoes are produced by farmers in this region in the center of the country and are transported to the provinces of Moxico, Luanda, Lundas Norte and Sul, Malanje and Zaire.

“In addition to tomatoes, products such as beans, corn and vegetables leave the municipality every day”, he revealed.

The director informed that the Provincial Government, within the framework of the agricultural promotion program, has provided all the necessary support to producers, from facilitating the granting of land to obtaining credit from commercial banks, in addition to training and training farmers. to achieve the recommended objectives.

Paulo Chissonde also defended the need to implement new technologies in this field, so that the municipality becomes self-sustainable and contributes to the diversification of the country’s economy.

In a municipality where agriculture occupies more than 80 percent of a population estimated at more than 300 thousand inhabitants, Andulo has the potential to give it a relevant role in attracting more investors and catapulting itself to the top of the supply chain. supply of products of agricultural origin on a national scale.

Government authorities and other heads of agricultural associations and cooperatives continue to call for the opening of more support programs to make the most of the capabilities of families in the municipality.
