Africa-Press – Angola. The 2nd secretary of the MPLA in Cuando Cubango, João Yambo Miguel, highlighted Tuesday, that the party in power is in good health democratically in the province, as it coexists normally with any other party force in the opposition established in that region.
The politician was speaking during a press conference, which marked the entry into the MPLA of the former municipal secretary of UNITA in Cuito Cuanavale, Lucas António.
He recalled that the MPLA, since 1992, has achieved five consecutive victories in general elections, therefore results that place it as a party of victories and a party of the people, because it is the party that elects.
“We fight for peace, national reconciliation, the country’s sustainability, effectiveness and prosperity, as we have certainty, confidence and hope in the objectives we pursue”, recalled the politician, for whom this fight aimed to position Angola as a Nation independent.
Lucas António, 39 years old, said that it was out of his own free will and conviction that he resigned from the UNITA party to join the MPLA.
