Africa-Press – Angola. Inflation in the country rose to 27 percent in March, in the variation compared to the same month of 2021, also registering an increase of 1.56 percent, compared to that recorded in February this year, according to the National Institute of Angola Statistics (INE).

“The year-on-year change stands at 27.00%, registering an increase of 2.24 percentage points compared to that observed in the same period of the previous year (March 2021)”, reads the note from INE, on Monday. fair, which points out that “comparing the current year-on-year change with that recorded in the previous month, there is a deceleration of 0.28 percentage points”.

Compared to the previous month, the price index “registered a variation of 1.56%, from February to March 2022” and “comparing the monthly variations (February to March 2022) there is a deceleration of 0.21 percentage points, while, in year-on-year terms (March 2021 to March 2022), there is a deceleration in the current variation of 0.22 percentage points”.

According to the INE in Angola, the “Food and non-alcoholic beverages” class contributed the most to the increase in the general level of prices, with 1.02 percentage points, during the month of March, followed by the “Goods and miscellaneous services”, with 0.10 percentage points, “Furniture, domestic equipment and maintenance” and “Clothing and Footwear”, with 0.07 percentage points each and “Health” and “Transport”, with 0.06 percentage points each.

All other classes contributed less than 0.06 percentage points to the rise in prices.
