Africa-Press – Angola. Internet Technologies Angola, SA (ITA) announced, on Friday, the establishment of a 200 Gbps high-speed fiber optic connection between Cabinda and the town of Noqui, in Zaire, connecting the enclave to the other provinces of the country, by fiber optic.

According to a press release, the connection is part of its strategic plan to expand its national coverage in optical fiber, and reaffirms ITA’s alignment with the government’s strategy for digital inclusion and for the transformation of Angola. in a data hub.

For the director-general of ITA, Francisco Pinto Leite, quoted in the same statement, this connection represents an important milestone, due to the geographical discontinuity of Cabinda with the rest of the country.

This infrastructure, he adds, makes it possible to offer connectivity services to Cabinda, at the same level as available in the other provinces of Angola, thus consolidating national unity.

“ITA has stood out for its connectivity guarantees through fiber optic, microwave and satellite technologies throughout the national territory. International Internet traffic is supported through international points of presence (POP) in the United Kingdom (London and Rugby), Holland (Amsterdam), France (Marseille), Portugal (Lisbon) and USA Miami.

In the case of the connection to Cabinda, explains ITA, in the same way as all other infrastructures it manages, ITA guarantees total redundancy, ensuring all connections by data transmission and the installation of a fiber optic network or a dedicated connection point-to-point (P2P) microwave service based on location and service provided.
