Africa-Press – Angola. The governor of Cabinda, Marcos Nhunga, said that the Maritime Terminal is an extremely important project for the province, as the infrastructure will significantly change the lives of the populations and catapult development in several areas.
“This terminal is a sign of more comfort, shorter distances and a more united Angola”, said the governor of Cabinda, visibly satisfied, during the inaugural act.
For Marcos Nhunga, the day (yesterday) was always eagerly awaited by the populations that inhabit this national territory, as traveling from Cabinda to the rest of the country was always a headache.
“TAAG, no matter how many trips it makes, cannot meet the demand, given the limitations in transporting luggage. With the construction of this project and the circulation of catamarans and with the entry, soon, into operation of the ferry boat, a new page for Cabinda”, he reinforced.
According to the official, with the movement of vessels between Cabinda-Soyo-Luanda and vice-versa, the province will receive an abundance of food, industrial and construction materials, as well as further promoting tourism and the development of the territory.
“We also believe in an increase in imports and exports, as the current jetty is already beginning to benefit from the effects of this major investment, which is the Quebra-Mar, and the calemas no longer bother the docking of ships”, he pointed out.
According to the governor, the desire of the people of Cabinda is to see the prices of essential products reduced, as they are three times more expensive than in other provinces.
“Even resorting to neighboring countries, the cost of living remains high in our province. We believe that in the coming days the situation will change. We take this opportunity to appeal to national and foreign businessmen to come to Cabinda to see the business opportunities that are maids”, he invited. In Marcos Nhunga’s opinion, a giant step has been taken to make life easier for those who want to do business in the province: “Cabinda has many resources and needs those who exploit them. More investments means more jobs and better lives for our populations”.
On behalf of the population of Cabinda, he asked the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, to speed up the conclusion of other projects underway in the province, with particular emphasis on the Port of Águas Profundas do Caio, a project that would definitively solve the transport problem. of goods from Cabinda to other parts of the world and vice versa.
