Africa-Press – Angola. The Secretary of State for Social Action, Elsa Bárber, said this Monday, in Luanda, that 53 new Integrated Social Action Centers (CASI) were opened in the country for three years, to minimize the difficulties of citizens in most vulnerable situation.

Elsa Bárber, who was speaking at the opening of the II methodological meeting to accompany the CASI, added that there are also 24 spaces designed by the Program for Strengthening Social Protection “Kwenda”, of which 15 are already in operation.

For the functionality and implementation of these spaces, he explained, several sectors were involved. “Municipal administrations play an important role in promoting and expanding the municipalization of social action, as they are called upon to adapt to the current context, whose actions are aimed at the development of human capital and communities”, he said.

The Secretary of State for Social Action added that the meeting was a moment to share work experiences and good practices in the implementation of intervention strategies, with a view to social protection of vulnerable groups. “The meeting also serves as a basis for the alignment of a strategic intervention plan with regard to monitoring the actions developed by the CASI, with the support of other projects, such as Kwenda”, she clarified.

The director of Social Action, Fátima Cabral, considered the CASI “gateways” for citizens in situations of poverty and vulnerability to different services, programs and projects for citizenship and social promotion. The project, she said, has a positive impact on communities and has already benefited over 17 thousand families, assisted in different services, including health, education and food.
