State will no longer require the Birth Certificate

Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan State will no longer require, in the near future, the presentation of the Birth Certificate for various purposes, in order to speed up the acts involving this document, said this Monday (25th), in Luanda, the secretary of the President of the Republic for State Reform.

Pedro Fiete Raimundo advanced the information during the intervention at the meeting with the provincial delegates of Justice, conservators, notaries and those responsible for the Civil and Criminal Identification Services, who analyzed, in the auditorium of the Faculty of Law of the Agostinho Neto University, “the challenges of discontinuity of the Birth Certificate”, the “unification of acts of registration” and “the canonical marriage according to the Angolan legal system”.

He made it known that the measure is part of the Simplifica project, launched in June last year, whose main objective is to allow the Public Administration to be efficient, effective, streamlined and modern.

“In the specific case of the Birth Seat, the Simplifica project provides for the discontinuity of its physical issuance, that is, the dematerialization of the document”, he highlighted.

He stressed that most of the services provided by the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights are, as a rule, as initial requirements for access to other public and private services, which is why the first edition of the Simplifica project favored acts in the Justice sector, such as simplification measures that directly “impact” the lives of citizens.

The official added that the Justice sector is one of those that, depending on the object of its activity, practices acts that, due to their relevance, continue to be the most sought after by individuals at the level of Public Administration.

Pedro Fiete Raimundo said that, up to now, as part of the gradual implementation of the Simplifica project, several measures that are changing the lives of citizens have been implemented so far.

“Here, we can mention some measures that are already effectively implemented today, such as the elimination of the act of confirmation of enrollment at General Education level, the elimination of the requirement of a Criminal Record certificate for the purpose of presentation to the Public Administration” , highlighted.

The official also said that if simplification did not take place in this sector (that of Justice), the Executive’s project, in the eyes of the citizen, would be “irremediably” compromised, stressing that the meeting with those responsible for the sector, yesterday, aimed at , precisely, to reaffirm the commitment and participation of all in this change of the current paradigm, with the introduction of a new administrative culture of work at the level of public services.

This meeting was also attended by the Secretary of State for Justice, Orlando Fernandes. Speakers at the event were the national director of Identification, Registration and Notary, Carlos Alberto Cavuquila, the head of the Department of the DNIRN and conservative João Domingos Francisco.
