Africa-Press – Angola. Quintino Moreira was, last Sunday, reappointed to the post of president of the National Patriotic Alliance (APN), an extra-parliamentary political formation that plans to participate in the general elections next August.

The reappointment to the leadership of the party took place during the Congress, held Saturday and Sunday, in Luanda. In the same activity, the 151 members of the Central Committee were elected. 301 delegates participated.

President-elect Quintino Moreira said that the process was transparent and democratic, so he hopes that the August general elections will reflect the will of the people.

The APN leader also commented on the current situation in the country, considering it “marked by extreme violence”, which deserves greater reinforcement of policing and criminal investigation means. preventive action.

The APN, whose recognition dates from August 12, 2015, launched itself for the first time in the national electoral race in August 2017, having obtained 0.5 percent of votes, which referred it to the status of an extra-parliamentary party.
